Cleveland Play House CURTAIN PULLERS YOUTH PERFORMANCE LABORATORY

The Curtain Pullers Youth Performance Laboratory is an exciting new take on
our theatre workshops for youth and teens, grades K-10.  Each class focuses
on one of this season's productions at The Cleveland Play House, as a
departure point for exploration in writing, acting, music, dance, and the
many behind-the-scenes disciplines that contribute toward creating magic on
the stage.

Fee: $180 per class

FALL 2007

PRIMARY GRADES K-3: CLASSICS COME TO LIFE: FROM PAGE TO STAGE 

SEPT 29 - NOV 17 . 10-Noon: 8 Saturday Sessions Explore improvisation,
character development, movement, music, and set and costume design, using
Bunnicula as a starting point.  Discover how a story is adapted for the
stage, and peek behind the curtain for a backstage tour of the set used in
this season's production.
Class fee includes one ticket for each student to see Bunnicula, OCT 13 . 1

Additional tickets for family:  Adults/$20 . Children/$15 


MIDDLE GRADES 4-6: ACT! SING! DANCE!  Musical Theatre Workshop 

SEPT 29 - NOV 17 . 10-Noon -8 Saturday Sessions Become a triple threat!
Hone your acting skills by sharpening your approach to scene study and
exploring improvisation.  Let your talent sing by achieving greater command
of vocal technique.  Step up to the challenge of putting your feet through
their paces in a variety of theater dance styles.  Finally, round out your
theatre experience with a behind-the-scenes look at the Play House props,
set, and costume shops.
Students will begin with Man of LaMancha, learning songs and scenes from the
classic musical, as well as other popular shows.  Class fee includes one
ticket for each student to see Man of LaMancha, OCT 6 . 3 PM 

Additional tickets for family:  Adults/$57 . Students/$10 


UPPER GRADES 7-10: CLASSICS COME TO LIFE: FROM PAGE TO STAGE 

OCT 13 - NOV 17 . Noon-2 PM: 6 Saturday Sessions Explore improvisation,
character development, movement, music, and set and costume design, using
the Sherlock Holmes & The Chosen as a starting points.  Discover how a story
is adapted for the stage, and peek behind the curtain for a backstage tour
of the set used in this season's production.  Class fee includes one ticket
for each student to see Sherlock Holmes on OCT 20 . 3 PM and The Chosen on
NOV 10 

Additional tickets for family:  Adults/$57 . Students/$10
