COACH HOUSE THEATRE AUDIENCES TO SOLVE MYSTERY OF THE MOUSETRAP

The longest running play in history to be performed in Akron

Akron, OH -This season, Coach House Theatre is thrilled to present Agatha
Christie's crowning masterpiece, The Mousetrap, from September 9th through
September 22nd.

The Mousetrap began its West End run on November 25, 1952 with Richard
Attenborough and Sheila Sim in the original cast. It is the longest running
play in theater history with over 22,000 performances; appearing for
twenty-one years at the Ambassador theatre in England, and then from 1974
until today at St Martin's Theatre on West Street in London's East End.

Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap brings together a group of strangers
stranded in a boarding house during a snow storm, one of whom is a murderer.
The suspects include Mr. and Mrs. Ralston, the newly married couple who run
Monkswell Manor guest house, and their suspicions nearly wreck their perfect
marriage. Others are Miss Casewell, a manly woman with a curious background;
Christopher Wren, an architect who is quite at home in the kitchen; Major
Metcalf, retired from the Army; Mr. Paravicini, a strange man whose car has
overturned in a snow drift, and Mrs. Boyle, a jurist who makes life
miserable for everyone. Into their midst comes a Detective Sergeant Trotter,
valiantly arriving in a snow storm to protect the guests from the murderer.

For his Ohio directorial debut, director John D Haller brings a talented
cast of area actors together, as well as several new faces to the Coach
House Theatre stage. The eight suspects who make up the acting ensemble in
The Mousetrap are Jennifer Bernhardt as Mollie Ralston, Jennifer's husband
Mark Bernhardt as Giles Ralston, Scott K Crim as Christopher Wren, Harriet
DeVeto as Mrs. Boyle, Barry Friedman as Major Metcalf, Emily West as Miss
Casewell and Jonathan Fletcher as Mr. Paravicini with Jeremy Joynt as
Detective Sergeant Trotter.

As readers and audiences have come to expect from a work by Agatha Christie,
red herrings and false clues abound as the tension builds to a fevered
pitch. Rare is the audience member who can spot the real culprit before he
or she is revealed on stage. And to keep it that way, it is tradition to ask
audiences not to share the ending with anyone after leaving the theatre.

Performance times are 8:00 PM Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings with
Sunday matinees starting at 2:30 PM. Tickets are $15 for adults with
discounts for students and groups of fifteen or more. For tickets, please
call (330) 434-7741 or visit www.coachhousetheatre.org. Audience members
may also enjoy elegant dining in the Akron Woman's City Club before the
show. For dinner reservations please call (330) 762-6261. Join the
millions who have already discovered whodunit, but will not share their
secret....
