            BIG LEG EMMA
  Friday, September 14 -- 8:00 PM
Big Leg Emma was formed in the summer of 2001 after long time musical partners Steve Johnson (songwriter/vocals/guitar) and Charity Nuse (songwriter/vocals/mandolin/djembe) met Amanda Barton (fiddle/vocals) through mutual friends. Although musical styles varied, the three immediately melded their sounds to create a unique genre of music mixing folk rock, bluegrass and alternative country.
In April, 2006 they joined forces with Steve French (bass) and Rad Akers (drums). This union created a very energetic sound including influences ranging from progressive rock to hip hop; intensifying BLE’s ability to jam. Our newest member, Steve Davis (keys/organ/vocals) was added in February, 2007. His jazz/funk/blues sty lings completed what is now known as Big Leg Emma. Even though BLE is often described as a Firey Americana Roots Rock band, they appeal to audiences of all ages and musical preferences. With the front three original members still in place, the addition of the newest members has enabled BLE to reach new ground without losing their original chemistry.
BLE is a nationally touring act that creates their music on feel, vibe, and deep hearted lyrics. The band's tour schedule has led them from the scenic hills of Western New York to the Great Northeast, the Midwest, the Deep South, and all points in between. BLE has built a strong following in the festival circuit sharing stages with Rusted Root, 10,000 Maniacs, Gin Blossoms, The Sam Bush Band, The Wailers, Keith Anderson, Los Lobos, Old Crow Medicine Show, Peter Rowan and Donna the Buffalo, just to name a few.
The band is now out in support of their latest CD "Big Leg Emma LIVE", just released in July 2007. Big Leg Emma has grown in many positive, professional and personal ways over the last few years and is looking forward to a great summer! The band will be on tour in a town near you. See YA ALL ON THE DANCE FLOOR!!!

        LEON REDBONE
  Saturday, September 15 -- 8:00 PM
Leon Redbone (born October 29, 1949) is a performer of early 20th-century jazz and blues music who has been called "the most famous non-famous American musician."
Supposedly born in Cyprus to Armenian parents (born Dickran Gobalian, according to some sources)[citation needed], Redbone cultivates an aura of mystery and therefore is not easy to biographize. It is known that he lived in Canada for years, where he first began performing in public. Frequent appearances in Toronto clubs and at folk music festivals in the early 1970s helped him to build his musical reputation and his mysterious persona. At one point, it was rumored that he was Frank Zappa in disguise, but since the latter's death due to cancer, these rumors have subsided.
In 1974, Rolling Stone magazine ran a feature article on Redbone, a full year before he even had a recording contract. Described in the article as "so authentic you can hear the surface noise," Redbone told the magazine that he was the love child of Paganini and Jenny Lind.
Redbone finally released his first album, On the Track, for Warner Bros. Records in 1975.
He became known to the public as a semi-regular musical guest on NBC's Saturday Night Live throughout the late '70s and into the '80s. In a late-'70s appearance on the Merv Griffin show, he was introduced as "Andy Kaufman ...maybe or maybe not," alluding to the eccentric comedian as being his possible true(?) identity. (They were both born in 1949.) He also has had an extensive and enviable performance history with musical greats, and has even made appearances in the comic strips of Mister Boffo and Gary Larson. Redbone performed the theme song for the popular '80s sitcom Mr. Belvedere and appears regularly on the PBS children's show Between the Lions. He has also done music for and appeared in television commercials, the most famous being the advertisement for Budweiser beer, where he flies over a beach on a flying carpet, singing "This Bud's for You."
On top of soundtrack and lesser compositions, Redbone has released approximately a dozen albums and earned a cult-like fan community who will travel significant distances to hear him perform. His recurrent gags involve the influence of alcohol and claiming to have written works well before his time (as part of the age mystery schtick), and his concerts blend performance, comedy, and skilled instrumentals.

          BATDORF & RODNEY
REUNION
  Saturday, September 29 -- 8:00 PM
John Batdorfs uniquely passionate vocals and guitar playing landed him his first major record deal back in the 70s with Atlantic Records, and hes continued to develop and grow as an artist to this day. As the song writing and lead vocal half of Batdorf and Rodney, John began honing his craft and developing his own style back in the early 70s. After the breakup with Rodney, John did an album with a group called Silver and toured the country promoting their album at venues with the likes of America, Doobie Brothers, Poco and Hall and Oats. Fans devoted to his sound recognized Johns voice on several radio and television projects in the 80s when he worked as a top LA studio session singer. When he wasnt touring with bands, or producing music for a variety of clients, he never stopped writing songs. In the early 90s he partnered with fellow songwriter Michael McLean and released a handful of albums that captured a personal resonance John found with his universal songs of hope
and inspiration. Its as if with each stage in his artistic journey, he developed a greater understanding of the power music to impact our daily lives. Never one to stagnate creatively, John expanded his artistic palette from acoustic driven pop/rock to story driven melodies. From 1996 to 2002 he worked as a TV composer for the hit series Touched by an Angel and Promised Land. Now into the second half of the new millennium, John has recorded a new CD with James Lee Stanley "All Wood And Stones" (a highly original take on early Rolling Stones songs, done acoustically with tight harmonies) along with his first solo EP, "Side One." His latest solo CD,Home Again is comprised of seven new originals and three songs for the Batdorf and Rodney days. This CD is an acoustic guitar and vocal enthusiasts dream come true! When you listen to John sing songs about things that really matter to him, and youll understand why they mean so much to his fans that have spanned three decades.
John will be performing solo the first half of the show and then will be joined by his old buddy, Mark Rodney. They will be performing all their greats from the B&R days. Don't miss this one!
