THE STORY
A beautifully crafted adaptation of Harper Lee's (with her permission) classic novel. The extraordinary and unforgettable story of life in the American deep-south as seen through the eyes of a child. Brother and sister Jem and Scout Finch are growing up during the Depression, but their idyllic childhood innocence is shattered with the realization that bigotry and prejudice rule their small redneck town. Their father Atticus, a liberal and principled lawyer, defends Tom Robinson, a black man falsely accused of raping a white woman and the whole family becomes the target of gossip and abuse. The issues this classic work addresses are as challenging and as relevant today as they were in 1960 when Miss Lee published To Kill a Mockingbird.
