[NEohioPAL] Audire Fabula: Audio Workshop Open to the Public

Zack Quarles, Sound Designer for Video Games and Stage

 

The Cleveland State University Dramatic Arts Program will be hosting a
continuing series of workshops featuring an array of theatre professionals
from all disciplines. For our first workshop, on October 20th, we will
welcome the audio director for Chicago's Day 1 Studios, Zachary Quarles, who
will present Audire Fabula: The Importance of Audio and Storytelling.  Zack
is responsible for the overall audio "vision" for every project that is
released through the company, including: X-Men: Legends, X-Men: Legends II,
Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Soldier of Fortune II, Star Trek Elite Force, Jedi
Knight: Jedi Outcast, Quake 4, and F.E.A.R 360.  He was nominated for the
2005 NAVGTR award for "Best Sound Effects" (Quake 4) and F.E.A.R. 360 was
awarded "Best Use of Sound" in 2006.   He is currently working on Fracture
with George Lucas' software division, LucasArts.  Theatrically, he received
his BFA in Musical Theatre Performance from Missouri State University and
has worked with several theatre companies across the country working as an
actor, music composer, sound designer, and director.  He is currently a
member of the Open Cage Ensemble in Chicago where he serves as a core
company member of the board.

 

The workshop will run from 10am to noon and is free and open to the public.


 

Parking for the CSU Faculty Theatre will be free and is located in lot S1,
on East 24th Street between Chester and Payne Avenues.
