yet unsuccessful novelist Eric Weiss,whose life
drasticaly changes when his
new,autobiographically-based novel becomes a
bestseller.

An outsider all his life,he suddenly finds himself on
the inside of everything:Town cars,TV studios,a
Hollywood producer's office,and the Sunday book
review.

But as his career takes off,his personal life suffers.
