On November 3rd, CSU Dramatic arts will host a workshop, Theatre for Social
Change, presented by Ew Quimbaya-Winship and based on Brazilian director
Augusto Boal's Theatre of the Oppressed, which allows its audience to engage
the play they are witnessing and alter the fabric of the piece in order to
better understand and change the world in which they live. Ew has a long
history with, as he calls it, "interactive educational socio-political
theatre", ranging from the interactive theatre troupe BareStage at Missouri
State University to creating an educational drama program for Planned
Parenthood in Rochester, NY, where he now resides and works as Educational
Coordinator for the Women's Center at Rochester Institute of Technology.

This workshop is free and open to the public. It will run from 10am to noon
at the CSU Factory Theatre. Free parking is available in the S1 Lot, East
24th Street between Chester and Payne Avenues.
