Little Woman of Orchard House is a delightful story of Louisa May Alcott
and her sisters, Anna, Lizzie, and Abby. It starts out in quaint
Concord,
Massachusetts, where Louisa May is telling her story, from her recently
written book. She flashes all the way back to her early childhood when
she
first moved to her Orchard House home in Concord. She talks of her
childhood, being taught by some of the best educators ever to live:
Henry
David Thoreau and Ralph Waldo Emerson. She slowly transitions from
speaking of her own childhood to speaking of the characters in her book,
Meg (Anna), Jo (Louisa), Beth (Lizzie ), and Amy (Abby). It is a story
of
their trials and triumphs during the civil war, when their father goes
off
to fight. Two tragedies strike and bring them even closer together.
Then it
moves on to their adulthood, where one of the sisters gets married, and
two find the man of their dreams. A wonderful play about the strength
of family
values and commitment. Each girl discovers for herself that love and
family is
more important than any amount of wealth or materialism.
