CABARET AUDITIONS

 

Stage Left Theatre Company, in collaboration with Medina County Arts
Foundation, will be holding auditions for Kander and Ebb's Cabaret.  This
dark and provocative musical will be presented cabaret style at the Grace
Drake Center for the Arts in Medina.  Stage Left welcomes and encourages
newcomers to audition however due to the mature nature of the show adults
only please.

 

Cabaret Information:

Production Dates- April 12, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20,25, 26, 27

Grace Drake Center for the Arts 222 South Broadway St. Medina (it really
isn't as far as you think)

Audition Information:

Dates- December 2nd and 3rd  7-9pm  (by appointment)       Callbacks
December 9th

Please prepare one or two songs from the show, not to exceed three minutes.
An accompanist will be provided.  No recorded music or a capella.

A headshot and resume is strongly suggested but not required. 

All roles are available.

 

Emcee - The odd and very flirtatious Emcee of the sleazy Kit Kat Klub.

Voice:  Tenor

 

Sally Bowles - A brash, sexy, youthful looking English singer/dancer at the
Kit Kat Klub.

Voice: Alto, Big Belt necessary

 

Clifford Bradshaw - A young American writer who teaches English lessons.

Voice: Baritone     No dancing required.

 

Fraulein Schneider- An older German woman who rents rooms in her house.

Voice: Alto     No dancing required.

            

Herr Schultz- A kindly, older Jewish greengrocer who rents a room from Fr.
Schneider.

Voice: Baritone/low tenor (high E to low G)     No dancing required.

 

Ernst Ludwig: A streetwise German who pays Clifford for English lessons.

Voice: Baritone (limited vocal role)     No dancing required.

 

Fraulein Kost- A tough, funny German prostitute living in Fr. Schneider's
house.

Voice: Alto/Mezzo

 

Additional Roles:

5 Kit Kat Girls     Strong singers/dancers

5 Kit Kat Boys     Strong singers/dancers
