Hi Everybody!
Here are some quotes from parent's and camper's evaluations, letters and
emails from last summer. We have many new and exciting plans for Fairmount
Performing Arts Camp (FPAC) next summer. We'll be announcing our plans and an
updated website in early December!
Warm Regards,
Fred Sternfeld
FPAC camp director
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------
I would just like to thank Fred and the entire staff of FPAC for a fantastic
camp. Courtney made many new friends at camp and talks about going back next
year already. The professional training, positive feedback and
encouragement are all things that Courtney can take with her to future auditions. We
look forward to next year.
The extra long ride (from the westside) was worth the drive, because
Courtney enjoyed camp so much. There will be no hesitation for signing up for camp
next year. The long drive is well worth it.
Excellent! Very informative … learned many new things. Courtney had a
great experience with all the staff. She was excited to see Dudley Swetland
because she knew him from A Christmas Carol at Great Lake Theatre Festival
where she played Tiny Tim.
Thanks for a great summer with Oliver and FPAC.

“Scene Study - the most challenging scenes I’ve ever worked on. Every
scene pushed me to my limits mentally and physically and transformed me as an
actor. Mitchell’s internal character work combined with CP’s focus on
interesting and realistic action helped create the complete character.” “Improv –
On day one, I refused to volunteer and prayed that I wouldn’t be called on.
Soon thereafter, I was volunteering more and more. By the end, I was jumping
out of my seat before the game was announced. As an actor, I was able to
release inhibitions and get out of my head so that I could take risks and think
in the moment.” “Audition Techniques – Absolutely essential, couldn’t
have been more helpful. I came in with nothing and left with a full repertoire
that was diverse and showcased me as an actor and a person.” “Shakespeare
– I came in indifferent to Shakespeare and left completely obsessed. There
is no better way to approach contemporary material than to train classically.
My new grasp of language, voice and diction for the actor is an essential
skill that I have gained this summer.” “Flex Time – I took a different
master class every day in vital skills for the theatre. Highlights included
martial arts, dance, stage management, audition technique, Meisner with Elizabeth
Townsend, Direction with Seth Gordon, and Experiencing with Tom Fulton.
Even a one hour session can change me as an actor. Oh, and Charades with CP
rocked!”
Will Sanborn (FPAC ’06 & ’07)
Dear Fred and the FPAC staff!
We would like to express our appreciation to you and your wonderful staff.
It was Michelle’s first time at FPAC and we should say how great this summer
was for her. The staff was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly.
Michelle learned a great deal during her two sessions in camp. She met a lot
of good friends there. We, as parents, see enormous improvement in her
acting skills, voice and communications. Michelle will definitely be coming back
next summer. Thank you for everything!

“Samantha really enjoyed camp. She made several new friends and learned a
lot of things. The camp was a positive experience for her. The level of the
instruction seemed top rate. The mock audition was a great way to culminate
the (musical theatre) program. My impression is that it assisted Samantha
significantly in her level of confidence.”

Mother of Samantha Singer (FPAC ’07)

learning process, and I understand so much now!” “Staff – all of you are so
incredibly intelligent. I love that you all do different things in theater
so that you all have different approaches and opinions on acting. It was very
educational to listen to all of you.” “Dudley’s character biography
exercise was my saving grace and helped me understand my character’s objective.”
