The FANTASTICKS

Auditions: Saturday, Dec. 1 at 1:00-5:00. By appointment only. Please Contact

Location: Drury Theatre at the Cleveland Playhouse

All roles open. Equity and Non-Equity performers welcome.  


Audition Preparation: Please prepare two short musical selections of 
contrasting styles in your key; bring sheet music in the correct key; an accompanist 
will be provided. If auditioning for one of Non-singing roles prepare a short 
classical monologue. May asked to read from the script. 
 
Rehearsals begin around February 18. 
 
Performances Dates: March 8 through 23 on Studio One Stage at The Cleveland 
Play House.
 
Casting Requirements: 
 
El Gallo (The Narrator): A handsome gallant; a baritone: A flat- High G
Luisa (The Girl): A romantic idealist; soprano: B to High B 
**open to the possibility of a male

Matt (The Boy): An innocent young man; baritone/tenor: A-High G
Bellomy (The Girl’s Father): A merchant, also a picky gardener; baritone: A-F 
sharp
Hucklebee (The Boy’s Father): Former navy man, meticulous gardener; baritone: 
A-F sharp
Henry (The Actor): An aging, over-the-top thespian; Non-Singer
Mortimer (The Man who dies): Henry’s goofy side kick; Non-Singer
The Mute: A speechless presence who watches. Male or female. Non-singer
 
Note: If for any reason can not make it December 1 and would like to be seen 
for the show. The director will arrange a time to audition. Feel free to
