ActingShowcase.com showing positive signs
        With only a few weeks out of the dock, ActingShowcase.com is showing some promising results. With an average of 300 hits per day, acquiring advertisement, and signing up new users every day,this website is happening! 
    The website gets its origins from vShare, a YouTube clone that was modified to meet a specific need. Creator of the website, George Butiri, shares some information as to how this website came to be:
"I wanted to help out the local acting comunities around the country. I did some acting before, then produced some films, and I understand first hand how difficult it is to cast for a project. I wanted to simplify tasks and reduce hours of preparation from the producers perspective, as well as from the talent's."    The website also features a custom built search engine. The search engine can search for actors, producers, writers, dancers and many other talent types. Anyone can search by zip code, distance, age and height range, and other criteria. 
    As always, in time of need, new ideas arise. George also built and online database a few years back to keep track of his current projects, schedule shooting dates, and keep track of cast and crew.
    ActingShowcase.com has already brought the attention of Maureen Dempsey, a well know actress around the Cleveland area, who's also helped produce a variety of shows and starred in many.
    George esitmates that the website will gain more momentum now that the word is out, and that he's started a low budget marketing campaign. He's using his MySpace profile and Google's new Orkut Profile to attract more of the same types: Actors, Producers, and other talent.
