Clague Playhouse will hold auditions for Miss Pell Is Missing, a comedy by Leonard Gershe, on Monday, January 28, 2008 and Tuesday, January 29, at 7:30 p.m. Director is Bernice Bolek. No appointment is necessary; actors will read from the script. scripts are available for perusal at the box office Wed - Sat 1-0 p.m.

Rehearsals will begin in March and will be flexible to account for actors' availability. Performance dates are April 18 - May 11.

Setting is 1915 in the library of the Pell House in Washington Square, New York City. The household of Richard Pell, a widower, has been taken over by his older sister who is a domineering, controlling dictator and who not won neither the hearts of Richard, his daughter Louise, nor the servants. When the sister disappears, Richard and Louise hire the most incompetent detective (an Inspector Clouseau type), and the servants are totally uncooperative. An opportunity for actors to make audience members laugh and feel good.

Looking to fill the following roles:

Louise Pell, a spirited soul who has been repressed too long (20's)
  Genevieve, maid (attractive, well-shaped; fun-loving flirt) (20-30's)
  Oscar Ritter, a lawyer (40-60's)
Richard Pell, Louise's father (compassionate, warm witty) (40-50's)
David Madison, a private detective (Inspector Clouseau type) (20-30's)
Pauline, the cook (sympathetic, practical) (40-60's)
Otis Kirby, Louise's pompous fiance (as arranged by the missing Ms. Pell (30's)

If you have questions for Ms. Bolek, you may leave them at the box office.
