Can Mayfield High School successfully defend its title as Gold Medal Winner?
Will Lake Catholic High School and Beachwood High School also repeat as
Silver and Bronze medal winners, respectively??
The IMPROV OLYMPICS for area high school age students will be held on
Sunday, April 13, 2008 from 11:30 AM - 3:30 PM at THE CLEVELAND PLAY HOUSE
under the auspices of The Cleveland Play House Education Department, and
KULTURE KIDS, a 501 (c) (3) arts and culture organization.
Just like the official Olympic Games, teams receive scores from a judge
panel of Cleveland theatre
professionals. Last year's judges included Award-winning Director Fred
Sternfeld, Karamu Theater Actor/Director Jimmie Woody and Great Lakes
Theatre Festival's Lisa Ortenzi. Emcees are from the acclaimed Improv Troupe
Something Dada! Scores reflect vocal and physical techniques of the actors,
as well as creativity and cooperation of the team.
Last year's Gold Medal was awarded to Mayfield High School, while Lake
Catholic High School claimed the Silver and Beachwood High School took the
Bronze . Wild Card awards went to Hathaway Brown School, Cleveland Heights
High School, Cleveland Municipal Schools and Shaker Heights High School.

The IMPROV OLYMPICS are open to all 14-19 year old students. There is free
food, prizes, free parking, and more. Interested participants should form a
TEAM of 4-5 members. Don't miss out! Register today!
