The Cleveland Museum of Art's Performing Arts Department is holding

AUDITIONS FOR:

THE GAMBLERS   By Nikolai Gogol,   Opening May 22, 2008

 

Directed and adapted by Massoud Saidpour

 

The Gamblers is a hilarious romp about a professional gambler traveling on a highly profitable con job. After stopping at a provincial inn where he believes that he is playing against local pinheads, he's poised to pull off his perfect scam. Little does he know the kind of scorpions he's dealing with. 

 

Seeking 7 male actors - Color blind casting: actors with various ethnic backgrounds are encouraged to audition. 

Mime, magic, card tricks desirable.

 

 

Audition dates:  By Appointment - Evenings of Tuesday, January 15 and Monday January 21 

Auditions will be held at Playhouse Square.

1.      MR. ROV                          A Traveling Gambler in his 30's or 40's     (Cast)

2.      GABE                                His Valet in his 50's

3.      ALEXEY                            Owner of the Inn in his 50's

4.      MR. SHOVE                     A Gambler in his late 30's, or early 40's 

5.      LT. KRUGER                   A Gambler in his late 30's, or early 40's

6.      MR. TESH                        A Gambler in his late 30's, or early 40's

7.      MR. GLOV                        An Old Man in his 60's

8.      GLOV JR                          His Son in his 20's

9.      MR. HEL                            A Bank Clerk (doubles with GABE) in his 40's

 

 

Rehearsals begin: April 14

Performance Dates: May 22-June 15, 2008
Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, 7:30 pm 
Sundays, 3:00 pm
