  BOYS OF THE LOUGH
40th Anniversary Tour - Only Northeast Ohio Date on this tour
  Thursday, March 6 -- 8:00 PM

The Boys of the Lough are one of the longest-running bands on the folk scene, now entering their fifth decade of making music together. The ever-increasing popularity of Celtic music owes much to the Boys' steadfast devotion... to acoustic instruments, traditional tunes, and the old ways of playing. Their lasting legacy is "music that tastes of itself."

ALEX BEVAN
  Saturday, March 8 -- 8:00 PM

First known as the "Skinny Little Boy" from Cleveland, Ohio who came to "Chase your wimmin' and drink your beer", Alex has made a name for himself through out the Northern Ohio music scene.

Drawing on his deep skill set of imaginative and honest song writing combined with an agile, improvisational wit that dovetail wonderfully with his flawless guitar slinging, Alex never fails to delight and charm audiences no matter what the venue.

His recordings span the gamut from folk to folk rock and pop to children's educational music and he has won a number of awards for his commercial efforts in radio and television. Alex's creative works have also contributed to documentary film scores.

With the release of "Fall & Angels" Alex shows us a deeper side of the "Low Tech Troubadour". You need to see him to believe him and hear him to know him!

   DAVID COUSINS of The Strawbs
  Saturday, March 15 -- 8:00 PM

Leader/founder of the Strawbs, Dave Cousins may be the most talented Dylan-influenced songwriter to come out of England. His work fairly resounds of both rebellion and antiquity, as though he were writing protest songs of the 18th or 19th centuries. Haunting melodies abound, carried by his raspy and sincere voice. Its beautiful sound is marred only by the same problem that plagued the Strawbs -- his difficulty in finding proper musical backup and settings. ~ Bruce Eder, All Music Guide

  BIL BENDEN & ROSS DUNCLIFFE
  Saturday, March 22 -- 8:00 PM

  Bil Benden
Bil's energetic and dynamic stage presence combined with his eye for detail make his stories both incredibly funny and true to life. Every subject that Bil tackles, if it hasn't been experienced by every member of the audience when the story began. by the time he's through, they have all been there and done it through Bil's eyes, ears, nose and throat. From childhood to parenthood, and all points in between, are subject to his irresistible and some times twisted sense of handling things. There is something or someone to lampoon in almost any situation that cross his path. One thing that he is especially proud of is he has never met a political correctness he likes, or likes him. No one gets off without being exposed to his keen wit and his
unwillingness to tell it any other way than as he sees it, including himself. Bil's act and style are not only extremely funny and comfortable, but also taste great and are less filling. Four out of five dentists recommend Bil and so do his wife and kids. The dentist because he's funny and doesn't cause cavities. His wife and kids because they know it's the only way the bum can make any money.

  Ross Duncliffe
Unlike most comics who were touched or beaten as children, Ross had a pretty normal life growing up. Somehow, he still managed to view the world as a sick and hopeless place. He has a point of view that is unique, refreshing, truly his own. When he reads an inspirational story, he pukes. When he gets lectured about morality, he runs. When he sees a car wreck, he laughs. Although his act is edgy and hard-hitting, his comedy has a wide appeal. Part of the fun is feeling a little guilty for laughing at his heartless point of view. But Ross has always been a firm believer that you only go to Hell if you actually mean it. For his sake, let's hope he's right. Rather than simple laughter, his audiences greet his jokes with cheers and applause. When they leave his show, they feel like they’ve seen a real comedy act. His high energy and brutal honesty have made him a Central Kentucky favorite. Ross is still in college at the University of Kentucky, but he is slowly expanding his
horizons. He has performed in comedy clubs from Chicago to Washington DC, and is rapidly becoming a favorite on college campuses. Don’t miss this exciting young talent!

  ROB McNURLIN
  also featuring
  SASHA COLETTE and LUNA
  Saturday, March 29 -- 8:00 PM

Rob McNurlin was raised in Eastern Kentucky, the hymns in church, the Johnny Cash Show on TV, a harmonica from his grandmother, his parents records and a guitar on his ninth Christmas set him on a very musical path.

He began studying traditional music learning hundreds of folk, hillbilly-blues and Gospel tunes. Inspired by Cash, Dylan, Woody Guthrie and Hank Williams he started writing songs and mixing these originals with the traditional .

Rob has released five Cd's including "Cowboy Boot Heel", recorded at Johnny Cash's Cabin Studio, produced by his son John Carter Cash and a duet with guest Ramblin' Jack Elliott. "Lonesome Valley Again" reached #26 on the FAR charts and #55 on the Americana chart, remaining in the top 100 over two months. The CD "River, Road or Rail" was a collaboration with Nancy Apple and reached #1 on the FAR chart, top 40 on the Americana Europe chart. His latest CD "Sacred Numbers" is a collection of Gospel songs.

McNurlin has toured with Ramblin' Jack Elliott and Hot Tuna, his songs have been covered by Ronnie Elliott among others and used in two award winning documentaries. He is currently touring and working on a new CD.

Behind the guitar of Sasha Colette lies the purity of an Eastern Kentucky voice rich in heritage, soul and emotion. The delicate blend of her skills on the fretboard and her vocal stylings can only be described as: Honest.

Sasha embraces her Carter County roots while embracing various artists. The result is a style that is Sasha Colette. Appalachian, Bluesy, Folk. Sasha's music and lyrics are real, for real people, about real life, and evoking real emotion.

Luna is a singer/songwriter that combines traditional, rock, and folk music. Through her brother’s association with The Beatnik Cowboys, she met Rob McNurlin. Rob introduced her to folk music such as Bob Dylan and Johnny and June Carter Cash. They later collaborated many times sharing the stage and vocals in Europe as well as the states. This partnership caught the attention of Mickey Fisher and Ritchie Collins who co-wrote the stage production “Something in the Water” which features old time music of Kentucky artists. Luna was asked to sing songs such as “Pretty Saro”, “Blue Moon of Kentucky", and “Coal Miner’s Daughter." Her vocal support has been recorded with Rob McNurlin and Jeff Walburn.

  RICHIE HAVENS
  Sunday, March 30 -- 7:30 PM

Richie Havens is gifted with one of the most recognizable voices in popular music. His fiery, poignant, always soulful singing style has remained unique and ageless since he first emerged from the Greenwich Village folk scene in the early 1960s. It's a voice that has inspired and electrified audiences from the Woodstock Music & Arts Fair in 1969, to the Clinton Presidential Inauguration in 1993 - coming full circle with the 30th Woodstock Anniversary celebration, "A Day In The Garden", in 1999.

For over three decades, Richie has used his music to convey messages of brotherhood and personal freedom. With more than twenty-five albums released and a touring schedule that would kill many a younger man, he continues to view his calling as a higher one.Richie Havens is gifted with one of the most recognizable voices in popular music.
