AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland to present special performance of
In the Continuum
Collaboration with Cleveland Public Theater in support of agency's 25th Anniversary
Cleveland, Ohio -- The AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland is collaborating with Cleveland Public Theater to present a special advance performance of In the Continuum. The benefit performance will take place at the Cleveland Public Theater campus on Wednesday, April 9 at 8:00 PM. Preceding the play will be a reception and art exhibition beginning at 6:30 PM.
This critically acclaimed two-woman show is making its Cleveland debut. Focusing upon the lives of two women who are quite literally words apart, the play follows the very different paths of a young woman in South Central, LA and a professional woman in Zimbabwe. Over the course of one weekend, these two women discover they are HIV+, and along with them, the audience explores the devastating impact of AIDS among African and African-American women.
A powerful art installation METACRISIS: HIV/AIDS Across the Continuum will be shown at the reception. This photographic exhibit looks at HIV/AIDS in its broader context. HIV/AIDS being inextricably linked with poverty, aging, religion, politics, love, loneliness, beauty, gender? the Earth itself, is a metacrisis (a crisis flowing through multiple dimensions of our lives).
All proceeds from this event go to support the many quality services and programs offered by the AIDS Taskforce. Special ticket prices are available. All tickets can be purchased by contacting Sarah Stankorb at 216-357-2223 or sstankorb at atfgc.org. The Richard J. Fasenmyer Foundation presents In the Continuum, in honor of the 25th anniversary of the AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland.
