[NEohioPAL] FREE Broadway Performance this Saturday

This Saturday, April 12th, St. Ignatius High School will host Broadway actor Robb Sapp for a day-long intensive musical theatre workshop. All high school students are welcome to come observe Mr. Sapp work with an extremely talented group of young actors as they prepare themselves for a mini-showcase performance that evening which will feature Mr. Sapp and the student participants.
 
Student observers will have the opportunity to watch what it takes to have a successful audition, present a solo, and work through an ensemble rehearsal as these events unfold and are created before you. There will also be an opportunity for a Q & A session with Mr. Sapp. 
 
The day will begin at 9:00am, the Q & A session at approx. 5:00pm and the showcase performance will begin at 7:00pm. Students are welcome to observe for all or any part of the day. 
 
All are invited, including younger students and adults, especially directors looking for young talent, to attend the showcase performance at 7:00pm.
 
Students planning to observe for all or part of the day will be asked to pay a $10 registration fee.
 
The concert itself is FREE for everone. (Students planning on attending the performance only do not have to pay the registration fee.)

Robb Sapp is a Solon, Ohio native enjoying a steady career as an actor in NYC. He has appeared on Broadway as Boq in WICKED. Off-Broadway he played Tank in ZANNA, DON'T! (original cast recording), Turkey in JOHNNY GUITAR (original cast recording), and Marvin in ENTER LAUGHING. Robb toured the U.S. with the First National Tour of SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER where he understudied and performed the role of Bobby C. His regional credits include Papermill Playhouse, Roundabout Theatre Company, Barrington Stage Company, Music Theatre of Wichita, Ford's Theatre, Syracuse Stage and Indiana Repertory Theatre. Robb has been a part of the development of THE 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE, SPRING AWAKENING, the upcoming Broadway musical CRY-BABY, and traveled to London to work on Lucy Simon's new musical ZHIVAGO. He recently played the role of Chachi in the new musical HAPPY DAYS, penned by the legendary Garry Marshall and Paul Williams. Robb is currently attached to the Broadway-bound musical LADY ON A CAROUSEL.   He worked on the film ACROSS THE UNIVERSE directed by Julie Taymor, which was recently released in movie theaters nationwide. Up next, Robb will be performing to 11,000 people nightly playing Motel in St. Louis MUNY's production of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF.  He has worked with many of New York's most eminent directors, writers and performers including Joe Mantello, Des McAnuff, James Lapine, Susan H. Schulman, Michael Mayer, Robert Moss, William Finn, Stephen Schwartz, Richard Maltby, Jr., David Shire, Joseph Stein, Ben Vereen, George Hearn, Idina Menzel, Carole Shelley, Richard Kind, Carol Kane, Jason Daniely, Norm Lewis, Victoria Clark and more. Robb holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Syracuse University and continues to share his knowledge and experience teaching master classes and performance clinics in Manhattan and throughout the country. He has been a special guest artist for many arts education programs including Camp Broadway, Broadway Classroom, Outside the Box, Paul Newman's Hole in the Wall Gang, Rutgers University and co-directed the Solon Drama camp for several summers while still in the Midwest.
