INGENUITY FESTIVAL

JULY 25-27

PLAYHOUSE SQUARE

Cleveland's fourth annual downtown Ingenuity Festival of Art & Technology

returns for 3 days of interactive art, high-tech displays,

music, performance, art, theatre and family activities.

CLEVELAND, OH (May 9, 2008) - Building on the extraordinary success of its first three years, the Ingenuity Festival of Art & Technology returns, celebrating the region's creativity, innovation, and cultural / technological resources. This multi-day summer festival in downtown Cleveland has evolved as a model for a new kind of urban festival that entertains, educates, advocates and demonstrates. This unparalleled celebration of art-tech collaboration features dance, music, theatre, film, and will run from July 25 to 27, 2008.

Passes for the Ingenuity Festival of Art and Technology are $10 per day or $15 for the entire weekend. Purchase passes online at www.ingenuitycleveland.org.

World-class artists from across the United States and around the globe will present original works along with a selection of work by Northeast Ohio's performing and visual artists. High technology firms (e.g. NASA) and major institutions and universities from the region will engage attendees with their latest scientific innovations in the Ingenuity Tech Center/Gallery. The Tech Center/Gallery will include fashion & music robotics demonstrations and fascinating nanotechnology images from the Cleveland Clinic.

Cleveland and world premières, international collaborations and innovative multi-media presentations are only some of the highlights of the Festival. Ingenuity's festival village presents an exciting "street scene" right in the heart of Playhouse Square, with three outdoor stages continuously programmed with a multi-cultural mix of music, including opera, rock, hip-hop, jazz, gospel, electronic music, blues and folk. The very popular Ingenuity Family Village presented by The Ohio Lottery Commission will once again feature an opportunity for kids to "Make Your Own CD", and "Make Your Own Video Game" experience, attend a fascinating interactive workshop at the Ingenuity Robotics Challenge presented by FirstEnergy Foundation and view an amazing NASA animation.

"Ingenuity is gaining in popularity and stature among high-profile artists around the world," said Ingenuity Executive Director, James Levin. "And this year's event will feature even more opportunities for festival-goers to interact with various art forms and hi-tech collaborations than ever before. Ingenuity isn't a passive event, but an experience that engages your senses, both emotionally and intellectually, and it's all happening in downtown Cleveland."

Once again, Ingenuity will be located at Playhouse Square (including many of its 7 historic theatres), E. 14th Street, Star Plaza, Idea Center, and a variety of neighboring storefronts and alleyways. "We're excited to be partnering with Ingenuity again this year," said Art Falco, CEO of Playhouse Square Foundation. "This July, Cleveland will once again welcome guests to a festival that unites the artistic talents of the region with artists from around the globe."
