Carl Topilow and the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra play "The Kings Of Swing" at
Fairmount Temple Auditorium.

Carl Topilow is renowned worldwide for his versatility, whether he  is holding a
conductor's baton or his trademark red clarinet. He is a multi-talented virtuoso who is
equally at home in classical and popular music both as conductor and instrumentalist.
Carl's pops performances blend light classical, swing, jazz, Broadway, Dixieland, and
Klezmer music, usually finding occasion to include a number on his array of brightly
colored clarinets. His unique approach to pops programming includes extensive
audience involvement and true showmanship.

Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple is one of Cleveland's leading Reform synagogues
and one of the premier Jewish institutions in North America.  We are committed to
coming together to learn, worship and connect with our Jewish tradition in all its
wisdom and beauty.  Come experience the warmth and friendliness of our
congregation and you will see why we are Anshe Chesed--people of loving kindness.

The 2007-08 Season for the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra has been fabulous so far:

The CJO returned to the Tri-C JazzFest in 2008 backing Telarc recording artist John
Pizzarelli and his tribute to Frank Sinatra.

Famed composer/arranger Wade Marcus led the band with his numerous
compositions, both old and new at a sold-out Bop Stop for two nights.

Our tribute to Frank Zappa was a spectacular night of difficult and important but
entertaining music, and brought back memories for a lot of Zappaologists. Held at a
nearly sold-out Bop Stop, the place rocked.

Our Clinic and Concert Program was very well received in the Akron Public School
System with performances at Firestone, North and Garfield High Schools with support
from the GAR and Margaret Clark Morgan Foundations.  Bill Dobbins will lead the CJO
for two concerts in July.

The CJO released its fourth recording, "Jazz Vespers," sacred compositions from Paul
Ferguson on the Azica Records label, and the release party/concert sold out the Bop
Stop.

A new weekly email newsletter, a MySpace site, blog and a redesigned website are all
new accomplishments, and all CJO recordings are now available for sale on the
Internet at CDBaby.com.

"The Art Form Moving Forward" is more than just a slogan. It´s our mandate to bring
big band jazz to all music lovers both young and old alike. Our desire is to take this
great American art form to new heights and new sounds for the 21st century. We hope
you´ll come along for the ride.
