Once again, Global Awareness Through the Arts (& Sciences) will be
offering up to two scholarships for travel, attendance, and lodging at
the Brooklyn Queens Conservatory Suzuki Workshop, to be held the week
of July 6th in Brooklyn, New York. Attendance at other Suzuki programs
this summer is also a possibility.

Last year, two East Cleveland students attended the music workshop,
staying at the home of the director of the program.

Side trips last year included a performance of the New York
Philharmonic in the park, Chinatown, the American Museum of Natural
History, the New York Aquarium, and a boat ride past the Statue of
Liberty. The final decision on this summer's side trips will be made
when we are in New York.

Those eligible to apply include members of the East Cleveland Youth
Orchestra, members of the Chambers Elementary School Suzuki Program,
other East Cleveland residents, and those who attend school in East
Cleveland.

The primary criterion for selection will be the demonstrated
willingness to work hard to learn to play the violin.
