That's one of the nice things about Point of No Return
(www.PNRImprov.Org) being an Improv group<g>. There's no copyright
issues, just public embarrassment. We actually record almost every
performance. We've turned them into cable shows for the Hudson Public
Cable TV channel, and have used them to review for our own purposes.

This actually brings up an interesting question. Most show licenses
state that you're not allowed to record your productions, and yet many
grant committees request them, and promotional guides recommend them.
Our theatre recently made it 'official policy' not to record
performances because the possibility of having a show shut down was too
risky. I'm curious as to how other local performance groups have
reconciled their desire or need for videos with the licensing
restrictions placed on the shows by their owners.

for my blog, www.cleveland.com/onstage.

if you have a video of your current or upcoming show, i can put it on my
blog!

however, you have to help me out by doing a few things (other than
making the video).

first of all, DON'T actually email me (or snail-mail me or in any other
way send me) the actual videos. posting them is a pain, and requires
software and time i don't have. (photos, you can send me; that's easy).
instead, to get your video in front of my web readers, do one of the
following:

1. post your video to youtube and email me the link, to both this (pd)
address AND my laptop address (tonycritic at gmail.com). i can then lift
the EMBED CODE from youtube, which makes it appear as if the video is
actually on my site, when in fact it's still on youtube but is embedded
in my site (don't know what i'm talking about? neither do i, but i've
done it and it works, and that's all i need know).

2. or, post the video to your own web site and then send me the EMBED
CODE. don't know how to make or find the embed code on your own site?
sorry, can't help you. just do the no. 1 route.

cheers. and thanks.
