This has certainly been my experience working in professional
organizations.  Usually the rights allow for archival tapings to be
made.  What the exact rules are of how those archives are handled after
(or stored would probably be a better word) they are made varies by who
owns and/or handles the copyright.


But almost all rights allow for something to be used for promotional
purposes.  It's usually a limit on the length of recordings allowed.
But again, you have to read your agreement specifically.

Allowances for promotion should be good enough that you could send a
video to Tony Brown in order to promote your event.  Although the whole
posting it on youTube thing opens up what could easily be a real can of
worms, since then you're essentially doing the equivalent of file
sharing.   Or awfully close to it.

But I'm not a lawyer.. so don't quote me.  :-)
