When we were discussing this matter at our theatre last year to decide 
on the official policy, we contacted our representatives at all of the 
services that we regularly use to license scripts. Our contacts at 
Samuel French, Dramatists Play Service, and Tams-Witmark all told us 
that they absolutely forbid taping for /any /purpose, period. The folks 
at Rodgers & Hammerstein said that there are about a half-dozen of their 
properties that /can/ be taped, but only if you pay them an additional 
fee. MTI was apparently less strict but still cautionary.  I don't 
believe any of them gave us stipulations based on length.

That being said, in the age of file sharing, YouTube, etc. there's such 
a rampant abuse of copyright that I doubt any of these agencies would 
attack a small non-profit for a 30 second promotional clip.  It's likely 
just not worth their time.  At least, I hope not :)  In any case, I'll 
be watching Tony's blog to see what people are up to!
