*AURORA COMMUNITY THEATRE PRESENTS*

*Little Shop of Horrors** **July 18 – 19***

"Little Shop of Horrors," the musical comedy that tells the story of how one
run-down flower shop, two lovers, three doo-wop girls and a carnivorous
plant can offer a whole new take on "going green," will offer 2 more
performances at 8 p.m this Friday and Saturday, July 18-19 at Aurora
Community Theatre, 115 E. Pioneer Trail.

Written by Howard Ashman with music by Alan Menken, ACT's production of
"Little Shop of Horrors" will feature the work of director Allison Bressi,
producer John Marchese with music direction by Brian Tracz.

Bressi, of Hudson, returns to the ACT stage ("A Chorus Line") to direct a
cast of top local talent including:

Eric Emch (Seymour) of Hudson, who also designed the set and created the
show's logo

Suzanne Davis (Audrey) of Cleveland Heights, seen recently in ACT's
"Cabaret"

Ron Lee Davis (Orin) of Cleveland Heights

Michael Rogan (Audrey II) of Highland Heights

John Marchese (Mushnik) of Aurora

and the doo-wop girls:

Atlie Gilbert (Ronette) of Solon

Melissa Sills (Crystal) of Solon

Katie Gucik (Chiffon) of Hudson

Daniel White, Aurora, oversaw construction of the elaborate set which
rotates a complete 360 degrees. Stage manager, Michael Minite of Aurora,
with assistance from Emily and Sarah Gajewski of Aurora, will oversee props
and set details for each performance.

PLOT

In a struggling, skid row flower shop, Seymour Krelborn, a geeky sales clerk
falls in love with co-worker Audrey, whose current boyfriend, dentist Orin
Scrivello, enjoys nothing quite so much as inflicting pain. Eager to help
the floundering florist, Seymour showcases a newly acquired, other-worldly
plant he's named Audrey II. When he accidentally discovers the plant's lust
for blood, the plot moves into high gear as first his rival Orin and then
his boss Mushnik satisfy Audrey II's carnivorous desires.

HISTORY

The play features music in the style of early rock and roll and Motown,
including "Somewhere That's Green," "Dentist!" and "Feed Me (Git It)." Based
on the original low-budget film, "The Little Shop of Horrors," released in
1960, the musical "Little Shop of Horrors" opened off-Broadway in 1982
subsequently moving to Broadway musical and then back to the screen as the
1986 movie starring Rick Moranis and Steve Martin.

Aurora Community Theatre appreciates the significant financial support of
Pat Catan's Craft Centers, leading sponsor of "Little Shop of Horrors."

Tickets at $15 each ($10 for those age 18 and under), are available online,
including seat selection at www.auroracommunitytheatre.com or by calling
