THE LION IN WINTER, James Goldman's witty and fiery comic drama pits the world's first Power Couple Henry II of England and his estranged Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine against each other. Throw in their ambitious, rebellious sons Richard the Lion Hearted, King John and Geoffrey of Brittany, then add Lady Alyss of Vexin and her little brother Philip II Augustus of France and you have the ultimate historical dysfunctional family. It's a veritable Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf meets King Lear ... It's Bill being Bill ... It's Hillary, before we meet Hillary ... And perhaps there's a fresh face on the horizon. Nothing like political family quarrels to warm us up for the Presidential campaign season. The performances, offered at no cost, are presented over two weekends:
Friday, August 1st and 8th at 8:00 PM Saturday, August 2nd and 9th at 8:00 PM Sunday, August 3rd and 10th at 2:00 PM
Performances are at Notre Dame College Great Room, 3rd floor of the Administration Building4545 College Rd. South Euclid (North of Cedar near South Green Rd.)

This terrific cast is comprised of area actors, appearing courtesy of Actors' Equity, the professional stage actors union, and students, and includes Peter Manos (King Henry II), Sandra Manos (Queen Eleanor), Kathryn Whitebread (Alyss), Nikita Kelly (King Phillip II of France), Sean Manos (Richard), Mark Levand (Geoffrey), and Michael Kaplan (John). And you think politics is dysfunctional now?!!
