  Clague Playhouse will hold auditions Monday, August 11 and Tuesday, August 12 for the musical,Radio Gals.  Book, Music and lyrics by Mke Carver & Mary Hardwick, and directed by Bernice Bolek. Auditions start at 7:30 PM and will be held at the Playhouse.
  

  Production dates are November 7 – December 7, 2008. (No performance Thanksgiving Day)
  

  Set in Arkansas in the 1920's, a wacky quintet of singers/musicians gather daily in Hazel C. Hunt's parlor to broadcast their rib-tickling songs and chatter on a radio transmitter. Hazel's habit of “channel wandering” reaches listeners as far away as Montreal and Manhattan, attracting the federal government to rescue the airways from these interlopers.
  

  Characters:
  

  Hazel Hunt – 60s (Voice low female range)
  Gladys Fritts 40s-50s (lyric soprano)
  O. B. Abbott – 30s-40s (tenor) (federal agent)
  America – 30s (soprano with country belt)
  Rennabelle – 30s (low female range with country belt)
  Miss Azilee Swindle – 40s-50s (low female range)
  The Musical Director will be a part of the cast playing Miss Mabel Swindle
  

  Please bring along sheet music for the accompanist. If you can play a musical instrument, i.e., guitar, please indicate on your resume.
  

  Audition will also include reading from the script.
