proud to announce the 2008-2009, 25th anniversary season:

Alive
A celebration of premiere performance and original work

"Cleveland Public Theatre is the place for bold, new, adventurous and
relevant works of performance," says Bobgan. "Our exciting line-up
includes amazing new works from great American playwrights and
home-grown premieres of national stature." The 08-09 season includes 4
World Premieres, 3 Ohio premieres, the 8th year of Big [BOX], the return
of Little Box and CPT's acclaimed performance series DanceWorks. Bobgan
adds, "Theatre is alive, full of energy, giving voice to contemporary
artists and celebrating the moment while challenging the status quo."
CPT's philosophy - that the arts can literally change the world - is
actualized through strategic programming and investing resources in new
plays and emerging artists that deal directly with relevant issues of
our times. The mission of CPT is to raise consciousness and nurture
compassion through ground-breaking performances and life changing

through the memories and words of four central Ohio families who invited
Tisdale into their homes and allowed him to document their grieving
process beginning with the moment when casualty officers arrive to
inform them of their loss. Goldstar, Ohio explores the intense pride of
service and the painful cost of war. The work will be directed by
nationally recognized Andy Paris, an original member of the Tectonic
