High School Men!!
Musical Auditions for…
INTO THE WOODS
By Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine
AT SAINT JOSEPH ACADEMY
On Cleveland's West Side
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 10th at 4:00 p.m.
(Call-backs on THURSDAY the 11th at 4:00 p.m.)
INTO THE WOODS was the winner of THREE Tony Awards in 1988, including Book
and Score. If you know nothing about this show (where have you been hiding?),
it is a marvelous mix of fairy tale characters that go to the woods and find
good and evil, right and wrong, but also find what happens to themselves
after "happily ever after."
DATES: Rehearsals will be Mondays through Thursdays from 4:00-6:30 p.m.,
starting Monday, September 15th. In mid-October, weekday rehearsals will
extend to 7 p.m. Performances will be November 14-23, 2008 on Fridays, Saturdays
and Sundays.
INFORMATIONAL MEETING: There will be an optional informational meeting at
4:00 p.m. in the SJA Music Room on Thursday, September 4th. The school is
located at 3430 Rocky River Drive in Cleveland and the music room is just past
the gymnasium. We will talk about the musical and what to prepare for the
auditions. Any questions can be sent to the director, Equity actor Patrick
Janson (just seen in “Harold and Maude” at Cain Park) at pjanson at sja1890.org.
WHAT TO PREPARE: Bring sheet music of a two-minute cutting of a song that
will show off your vocal range, your acting skills and your personality. A
piano accompanist will be provided, but you may sing to a CD accompaniment IF
there is no other voice on the tape.
