Gallery Show at Brecksville Center for the Arts
John Motion

Come to Brecksville Center for the Arts to view our current Gallery Show. It will be a solo exhibit of work by artist John Motion.

John was born in Cleveland and studied art in Cleveland and New York City and has dedicated his life to perfecting his craft as a painter by working tirelessly day in and day out.

As a lifelong student of world culture, his influences and taste have been both eclectic and Catholic. Very much influenced by the philosophy of art expressed in William Blake’s dictum that ‘the crooked line is more significant that the straight one’, it is not the goal of human perfection, but rather the mystery of actual living life that he has attempted to capture on canvas. Besides Blake, the most important influences of painters have been the life and work of Vincent Van Gogh and Paul Cezanne.

The show will run from September 17, 2008 through October 29th with an opening reception on Sunday September 21 from 2-5 pm. The exhibit and reception are open to the public without charge.
