America is a place where you can succeed or fail based
on your individual efforts???  Except if you're a huge
corporation, like AIG for example, and you "fail based
on your individual efforts" you get bailed out by the
government and have the taxpayers bear the burden of
your mistake.  And the reason you were in the
predicament in the first place is because of
deregulation and the fact that your profit was more
important than some average person getting a fair loan
to live in a decent home.  Conservatives like to say
government shouldn't get involved, but they certainly
are quick to take the handouts when it suits them.
