Actor workshop educates  participants 
about breaking into  Hollywood 
Mentor native also seeks to discover local  talent

KIRKLAND, Ohio - The Hollywood Talent Group is  hosting an acting workshop, “
Discover Me!”, on October 18 – 19 at Lakeland  Community College in the 
Performing Arts Center. The two-day workshop/seminar  features three top Hollywood 
insiders.  Mentor native Ric Beddingfield, General Hospital actor and Ohio 
native  Tyler Christopher, and Hollywood casting director and Canton, Ohio native 
Sally  Stiner will present and discuss what every actor needs to know to 
pursue a  professional career in film and television.  
“This is a great way for  those who can't get out to Hollywood to learn 
firsthand about the ins and outs  of the business,” says Beddingfield. In addition 
to the educational aspect of  the workshop, Beddingfield is always on the 
lookout for new talent. He adds that  the Midwestern–type is always the most 
sought after  “look.” 
Saturday 10/18  Seminar topics include:

·          Practical aspects of coming to Los  Angeles to begin an acting

·          Cold  reading 
On Sunday, participants will observe  intensive auditions of actors selected 
from Saturday.. The selected actors will  receive further intensive study, 
auditioning and feedback including reading with  Christopher, training with 
Stiner, and being evaluated by  Beddingfield. 
Auditions will be followed by a  participant-driven question and answer 
period with all three professionals  regarding the art and business of acting and 
succeeding in  Hollywood. 
The two-day seminar fee is $179.  A  portion of the proceeds will be donated 
to The Lakeland Foundation to support  the visual and performing arts at 
Lakeland Community College.

About Ric  Beddingfield 
Mentor native  Ric Beddingfield has been in the talent representation 
business for over three  decades.  From a humble beginning in  the mailroom at the 
world-famous International Creative Management (ICM) talent  agency, he worked 
his way to vice president as both a talent and producers agent  where he 
packaged over 40 motion pictures and represented feature film producers  and actors. 
Later, as an  agent at J. Michael Bloom, he represented such actors as 
Academy Award Winner  Marcia Gay Harden, Academy Award nominees Alec Baldwin, Laura 
Linney and Bob  Hoskins, and Emmy Award winners David Hyde Pierce (Frasier) 
and Ellen DeGeneres.  In 1994, Beddingfield opened his own talent management 
company, The Beddingfield  Company, Inc., to focus his attention solely on the 
clients he is most  passionate about.  
Beddingfield is  known for finding and developing new talent such as Freddie 
Prinze Jr., Josh  Hutcherson (Journey to the Center of the  Earth (3D), Bridge 
to Terabithia,  Polar Express), Jared Padalecki (Supernatural, Gilmore 
Girls), Eric Zamanda (CSI) and Amanda Baker (All My Children). He also currently  
represents successful film and television actors such as Tyler Christopher 
(General Hospital, Into The West), Eddie McClintock (Crumbs, Bones, Desperate 
Housewives, and the upcoming  Warehouse 13 series for SciFi  Channel), and Leigh 
Allyn Baker (Will  & Grace, 12 Miles of Bad  Road).  
In 1994, he and  his business partner, Paul B. Heth, opened the first cinema 
in Moscow, Russia  showing American films. Their company, Rising Star Media, 
is partnered with  National Amusements (majority owner of Viacom – Paramount, 
CBS, Nickelodeon,  etc. and owned by Sumner and Sheri Redstone) and currently 
owns and operates six  of Russia’s largest multiplexes, and are producing films 
in Russia for the  Russian marketplace.   
About Tyler  Christopher 
Delaware, Ohio native Tyler Christopher returned to the role of Nikolas  
Cassadine on ABC’s GH in 2003. He was  nominated for a Daytime Emmy in 1999, 2005, 
and 2006 for his portrayal. He left  GH in 1999 to pursue other projects  and 
had regular roles on popular shows Charmed and The Pretender. Guest staring 
roles  include Crossing Jordan, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and Jag, among 
others. In 2005 he appeared  in the Steven Spielberg-produced mini-series Into 
the West, where he starred as Jacob  Wheeler, Jr. 
About Sally  Stiner 
Canton, Ohio  native Sally Stiner is a former casting executive at NBC.  She 
is an  independent casting director currently casting The Bill Engvall  Show.  
She has cast such shows as The Jeff Foxworthy Show,  Malcolm in the Middle, 
Boy Meets World, Fresh Prince of  Bel Air and numerous other TV and film 
projects.  Stiner is currently  casting a new show soon premiere on a prominent kids 
cable channel that will  target young girls.
