Advanced Improv and Stage Skills 

With Mitchell Fields and Deena Mendlowitz
 
This four week eight-session class will focus on two parts.
Mitchell Fields will focus on stage presence and acting techniques including character building, physicality and emotional reality 
Then we will take the skills from Mitchell and apply them to longform improv while we learn and create new styles and work on skills to deepen scene work and the structures as a whole.
The Classes will be on Sundays and Tuesdays from 6PM - 9PM.

Mitchell Fields is a Professor at Baldwin -Wallace College where he teaches
Improvisation, Film and Theater. He is also an acting coach in private
practice. From 1999 until it closed in 2003, Mitchell was the Program Director
and Head Teacher at: Second City Cleveland. Other experiences in teaching
include Acting Coach for Something Dada Improvisational Theater Troupe, Acting
Instructor for The Cleveland Playhouse, Acting Instructor at Lakeland Community
College, Associate Director of The Cleveland Theater Company, Theater Department
Chairman and Artistic Director of the Fine Arts Association of Willoughby, and Acting Coach for Giant Portions Improvisational Theater Comedy Troupe, Teacher of Dramatic Arts, Film and Speech-Beachwood High School. Certified inEnglish 7 -12, Drama K - 12. Mitchell has an MA from Columbia University. He is also a professional actor whose credits include hundreds of roles in the theater and several films. He is a member of Actors Equity Association and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists 
 
Deena Mendlowitz has a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Bradley University. She has worked in the non-profit sector for organizations like The Cleveland Hillel Foundation and also worked in the Corporate setting as an on-staff humor writer for American Greetings. Deena began improvising in 2002. She trained at The Second City Cleveland and was a founding member of NOISe. She has also worked on stage with a variety of groups including: The University Circles, Ground Floor Theater, and Torque. Deena has performed for corporate brainstorms, non-profit events, and festivals. When not on stage she is behind the scenes, teaching and directing improv. In 2008 Deena co-founded FWB Improv, a group that brings together some of the best improv talent to put on shows where part of the proceeds always go to charity.
