Lakeside stages Neil Simon play

SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP — This Saturday and Sunday the Lakeside Theater Company will
present their fall drama, “Rumors: a Farce”, by Neil Simon.

This year’s drama will feature 13 of Lakeside High School’s most talented
thespians in a hilarious romp of a play.

At its start, several affluent couples gather in the posh suburban residence
of a couple for a dinner party celebrating their 10th anniversary. When they
arrive, they discover there are no servants, the hostess is missing, and the
host — the deputy mayor of New York City — has shot himself through the
earlobe. Comic complications arise when, given everyone's upper class status,
they decide they need to do everything possible to conceal the evening's
events from the local police and the media.

The show is produced and directed by Mrs. Andrea Tredent.

“Neil Simon productions are funny and accessible to both the student actors
and the audience,” Tredent said. “The students really get into it, which is
what it’s all about.”

The tech production students have been working on the set.

“Our students have been working hard during and after school to build the
set,” said Joseph Tredent, Performing Arts Center Coordinator. “We’re really
lucky to have dedicated parents helping out too.”

“Rumors: a Farce” will take the stage on Saturday at 7 p.m., and

Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for students

and seniors and will be available at the door.

Lakeside High School is located at 6600 Sanborn Road Ashtabula Ohio 44004
