Arts in the Cathedral presents “Amahl and the Night Visitors” by Gian Carlo Menotti on December  12 at 7:30 p.m. and December 14 at 3:00 p.m.  This familiar Christmas story of a visit by the Three Kings to a poor widow and her son appeals to both children and adults. 

 

Directed by Judith Higbee with seventh-grader Benjamin Sperl as Amahl, professional members of the cast include Jennifer Woda as The Mother, tenor Evan Bescan as King Kaspar, bass Stephen DiLauro as King Balthazar, and baritone Alan Higbee as King Melchior.

 

Ms. Woda, a Cleveland Heights resident, has performed with Cleveland Opera on Tour, Opera Per Tutti, Lyric Opera of Cleveland, University of Akron Opera Theater, Kalliope Stage and at Cain Park.  

 

This special presentation continues the 13th season of Arts in the Cathedral, providing cultural events, exhibits and workshops for the greater Cleveland community. 

 

Church of the Saviour is located at 2537 Lee Road in Cleveland Heights, one block North of Fairmount Blvd.  The church has plenty of free parking and is handicapped accessible.
