[NEohioPAL] Auditions for "Butterflies Are Free"

The Broadview Heights Spotlights Community Theater is holding auditions for the comedy, "Butterflies Are Free" on Sun., Dec. 28, 2:00-4:30PM and Mon.,Dec. 29, 7:00-9:30PM at the Cultural Arts Building, 9543 Broadview Rd. (next to police station).  Show dates are February 20-March 7, 2009.  

Synopsis:  Young Don Baker, hero of his mother's children's book series, "Donny Dark" has been blind since birth, his overprotective mother following his every move. Don finally decides to take his own apartment in Manhattan and pursue his songwriting ambitions. When she meets his kooky neighbor, sexy actress Jill, Mrs. Baker's controlling instincts go into overdrive with hilariously touching results.

Characters (actors/actresses can be older, but must look character age): 
Don Baker - early 20's, wants to be self-reliant.  Feels suffocated by his over-protective mother. Has great optimistic outlook.  Funny, endearing personality. 
Jill Benson - 19 years old.  Flighty, doesn't know what she wants, open to everything.  Outgoing, funny, lives for the moment, afraid of commitment. 
Florence Baker - 40's-50's. Don's mother - controlling, overprotective.  Smart, successful writer of children's books.  Well-bred manner, very strong-willed.  Doesn't think Don is ready to be independent.
Ralph Austin - mid to late 20's. Director of an off-Broadway play. Tries to be avant-garde.  This character is in one scene.
