Interested in a professional acting career? The Ashtabula Arts Center is offering a special one-day workshop with professional New York actor/director James Stover on Saturday, January 24 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. "Acting: Master Class on Working in the Theater" will begin with a warm-up ensemble exercise and also include a Q&A session about working in professional theater. Participants can do a prepared monologue for the group and everyone will have a chance to do a cold reading and receive tips and feedback from Stover.
Formerly a resident of Ashtabula, James Stover is a professional actor/director in New York City. He's appeared on "Law & Order" and in several feature films including the upcoming "Queen of Media: The Wendy Williams Story." He's performed Off-Broadway, in a National Tour, and at several major regional theatres including the McCarter Theatre, Virginia Musical Theatre and the Utah Shakespearean Festival. He recently assistant director Broadway's 24-Hour Plays (featuring Elijah Wood) and directed Roger & Miriam (featuring Daytime Emmy Award Winner Matthew Wilson). He is a graduate of the Otterbein College Musical Theatre program.
The workshop is open to all teens and adults, both beginners and veteran actors. Cost of the workshop is $15 per person . Pre-registration is required. For registration or more information, contact the Arts Center at (440) 964-3396. The Arts Center is located at 2928 W. 13th Street in Ashtabula
