The First Baptist Church of Greater Cleveland's Arts Outreach Program is premiering a play by award winning playwright Max Bush.  Looking Out presents a picture of the real life racial and class struggles of young people in moving out of oppressive, unjust and non-nurturing lives.  Then, in the stories of it’s main characters, Alex and Darius, it offers hope, it demonstrates a way out.  The play will be performed on two consecutive weekends; May 7,8 and 9; 14. 15 and 16th at The First Baptist Church of Greater Cleveland, 3630 Fairmount Boulevard (at Eaton Road) in Shaker Heights. Rehearsals begin April 6th.  The following roles have yet to be cast.  Ages are approximate:

 



Darius, 16 years old, African American, Junior in high school, college bound.

Alex, 16 years old, Caucasian, from a working class family, has college aspirations but is struggling to realize the dream.

Latisha, 19, African American, street-wise, a seduction for Darius, 

Charlie, 19, Alex’s brother, in prison

Cass, 30’s, African American, female, police detective.
