[NEohioPAL] Casting for an Akron U student film

Hey Folks,



The name’s Christopher Flash Johnson and I’m a Media Production student at
the University of Akron. I’m casting a short film based off the Ray Bradbury
short story “Zero Hour”. The general theme is that parent’s patronize their
children to much and don’t truly listen to them.



The premise follows a suburban mom, Mrs. Morrison, and her rambunctious
daughter, Mink. Mink is the ring leader of the children playing a fun new
game called “Invasion”. They are busy building a new contraption to allow
their friend Drill to come to Earth. Mrs. Morrison listens patiently to Mink
as she gushes on about the new game and begins to ponder whether or not
there is some truth in her daughter’s words.



I am looking for actors both male and female from ages 8 to 30s.



Characters:

*Mink* – Female – 8~ years old – She’s a spirited, spunky little girl who’s
the ring leader behind the new “Invasion” game.



*Mrs. Morrison* – Female – 30s – Mink’s understanding soccer mom type who
likes to indulge her daughter’s stories.



*Anna* – Female – 8~ years old – Mink’s meek fellow playmate who is helping
with the “Invasion”.



*Joey* – Male – 10-12 years old – A neighborhood kid who rides by and gets
interested in what Mink is doing.



*Boy* – Male – 10-12 years old - A friend of Joey’s who thinks Mink’s game
is stupid.



*Helen* – Female – 30s – Mrs. Morrison’s friend who happens to have a good
cupcake recipe.



*Brent Morrison* – Male – 30s – The dad. He works his 9 to 5 and comes home
to a wily daughter and happy wife.



-I may also need another kid or 2 to be in the gang playing with Mink.



I plan to have this cast by the end of Feb/start of March, shot by the
beginning of April, and editing/finished by the end of April.



Auditions:

Will be at:

Highland Square Library on Saturday, February 28th

1pm to 4pm

I will be taking video of the audition. If you want to bring a headshot that
is fine but not necessary.
