                  Auditions will be held for the following productions: 

                  "Man of La Mancha" Directed by 
                  Douglas Anderson  
                  Performance dates: 
                   June 12-14, 19 - 21 
                  and 25 - 27 

                  "Disney's 
                  High School Musical" Directed by 
                  Kim Godfrey  
                  Performance dates: 
                  July 10 - 12, 17-19 
                  and 23 - 25 

                  "Disney's Beauty and the Beast" 
                  Directed by 
                  Lisa Marie French 
                  Performance dates: 
                  July 31 - Aug. 3, 7-9, 
                  and 13 - 15

                        Actors of all skill levels are encouraged to audition for this summer's Straw Hat Theatre musical season. 


                        Auditions will be held on 
                         Saturday, March 14 from 
                        10 a.m. - 12 p.m.  &  1 - 5 p.m. 
                        and Sunday, March 15 
                        from  6 - 8 p.m.  
                         
                        Auditions will be held on a first-come, first-served basis.  The audition will include a reading or prepared piece of the actor's choice of no longer than 1 minute and a vocal selection no longer than 90 seconds. You also may be asked to read or sing something by the directors and may be asked to do a movement audition.  Please bring a list of schedule conflicts.

                         Audition Know-How Workshop" 



                        Saturday, March 7 
                         10a.m. -12 p.m. 

                        Workshop fee: $10 

                        The workshop, taught by veteran actor and director Douglas Anderson, will prepare new actors for their theatrical audition by teaching them what to expect during the audition process giving them the confidence needed to make that first audition step.  Students will learn how to find and choose appropriate monologues for auditions, and tips on how to practice them for effective delivery.  For those who wish to participate in musicals, choosing an appropriate song will also be covered as well as how and where to find sheet music.  Students in the workshop will read from suggested scripts and receive one-on-one coaching.  The workshop is limited to 20 students. Preregistration is required and can be made by calling the Arts Center at (440) 964-3396.
