The Solon Philharmonic Orchestra performs *Symphony # 1*by Johannes Brahms.
This second concert of the season includes a performance of Russell
Peck’s*Concerto for Timpani
* staring guest artist Matthew Babssett. Mr. Bassett is a principal
timpanist for the Cleveland Pops Orchestra and timpanist/percussionist with
Apollo’s Fire. At the premiere of the *Concerto for Timpani *in 2000, Peck’s
work was praised with words like “breathtaking” and “brilliant”. “it’s
exhilarating to the ears and a source of astonishment to the eyes.”
(Winston-Salem Journal). Don’t miss this outstanding musical performance!
