[NEohioPAL] To Market!!!To Market!!!

Michelle,

I have a sense of 'deja vu' here with you and your 'kids.'
That you have now twice used the phrase 'prepare our kids for the market'
speaks volumes about your approach to this very sensitive and personal issue.

Do you play the Commodities Exchange or the Stock Market???
And, that you are making this a very public issue, will have consequences
for which you are not planning. Your children's lives are being bartered.

Children are not 'commodities' to be 'bought and sold' on the market.
If you are looking to make money on your children, I firmly believe you
are heading down a path you will soon deeply regret. That you think
there should be no 'up-front money' and you admit there is none
to 'invest' smacks of Wall Street transactions. This is now the second
time you have found that you cannot conduct 'business' without money.
The first time you gave a photographer a deposit, and then didn't show up.
It would seem you are distracted by some other more urgent issue here.

Are you really serious about this 'investment' in 'marketing' your children?
If that is the case, then you must save several thousand dollars as a
rainy day fund for a talent agency contract. There is more than one out
there, so you can shop around. Keep in mind that 'talent agents' make
10% - and up. Those prices you did receive are relatively inexpensive.

I would also advise you - strongly - to check your language concerning
the 'marketing' of your own children. There are much better words to use
when you are out here, in the 'market.' This should give you pause to
what their real value is to you and their father. As the phrase goes,
" A word to the wise is sufficient."

NEOhioPal Community,

I have a question for all of you that have experience in the market.  My kids are just starting out therefore we have no money to invest.  I sent out some head shot/resumes of my kids to some talent agencies.  So far 1 of them contacted me and told me they are interested in my kids and would like to meet them and sign a contract.  They are asking for almost $700 a child/year for marketing tools, head book fee and being on the website.  They also charge $75 each for a consultation that helps prepare our kids for the market.  They will update our resume, we have to supply our own head shots.  What do you think of this?  I thought money should never come up-front.  I don't have the money anyway but I am just curious to know.  My kids did 5 months of ACT training and I am not ready to dish out anymore money.  Don't have it anyway.

God bless,
Michelle
