After successfully collaborating on last year's "Cabaret" Stage Left Theatre
Company and Medina County Arts Foundation are teaming up once again to
present Steve Martin's madcap and thought-provoking "Picasso at the Lapin
Agile". Yes...that Steve Martin!

At the legendary bar, the Lapin Agile, in 1904 Paris, a chance encounter
between the young Einstein and Picasso sets sparks, stars and jokes flying.
The dashing painter is on the verge of
revolutionizing the art world through Cubism, while the fuzzy-haired
scientist is soon to publish his groundbreaking Theory of Relativity. They
debate, amidst the zany banter from the
colorful characters in the bar, over attraction, creativity, and the future.

Joining them for an evening of lunacy is: the local bar fixture with an
overactive bladder Gaston, the off-the-wall inventor Schmendimen, the dim
witted bartender Freddy, his girlfriend the all-knowing barmaid Germaine,
smitten Suzanne, the pompous art dealer Sagot, a Countess and a mysterious
time traveling visitor from Memphis...wow that's a mouthful.

Sounds too deep right? Well it's not, it's Steve Martin, best known for his
stand-up and wild and crazy characters. It's just funny, there's
something for everyone. It's got the sort of humor that you would expect
from Steve Martin plus a lot of sharp, insightful wit. You definitely don't
have to hold a graduate degree to appreciate his jokes.

Adult Content Warning! Martin's commentary on sexual encounters,
relationship between the sexes and the occasional bawdy joke may not be
appropriate for all ages. I'd call it a PG-13 show.

Tickets are $12 and can be purchased at the door

Meet and Greet Friday's

Stage Left invites you to hang out with us after the Friday night shows.
We're all going head over to our favorite new place Cana Wine and Martini
Bar shortly after the show. Cana is the fabulous new upscale bar just a
block west of the Drake off of N. Court St. (that's where the pictures above
were taken). Come check out the new hotspot in Medina... have a drink, meet
the cast, talk about the show...
