Audition notice for Dobama Theatre¹s
31st annual Marilyn Bianchi Kids¹
Playwrighting Festival (MBKPF)!
 
Audition dates and times are:
Sunday, April 26, 3:00 ­ 5:30
Elementary and middle school students 3:00-4:30
High school students and adults 4:30-5:30
Monday, April 27, 6:30 ­ 8:30
Elementary and middle school students 6:30-7:30
High school students and adults at 7:30-8:30

No appointments are necessary for the auditions.

Please bring a picture/resume if possible and be prepared to write down a
list of conflicts. 
Auditions will include cold readings from the scripts and will be held at
the Unitarian Church,
2728 Lancashire Rd (off Coventry Rd) in Cleveland Heights.

The playwriting festival, held at the Westfield Insurance Studio Theatre in
the Idea Center of Playhouse Square,
will produce several short plays that are winners of a playwriting
competition held in Cuyahoga County for grades 1 through 12.
Actors chosen will have the opportunity to portray a wide variety of
imaginative and thoughtful characters in either one or several plays.
Festival performance dates and times are:

Thursday, 6/11, 7:30
Friday, 6/12, 7:30
Saturday, 6/13, 2:00 pm and 7:30 pm
Sunday, 6/14, 2:00 pm and 7:30 pm
³The Night Kitchen²
(plays written by high school students)
Friday, 6/12, 10:00 pm
Saturday, 6/13, 10:00 pm
Sunday, 6/14, 5:00 pm
 
Actors will not be required to perform in both the regular program and the
night kitchen. 

All actors for the festival perform on a volunteer basis (the festival is
free admission). 
Equity actors are welcome to audition but will need to submit a waiver form
to 
Equity requesting permission to work as a volunteer.
 
 The festival is being produced by Julia Kolibab this year and some of the
directors for the 
plays include Joyce Casey, Ron Newell, Juliette Regnier, Pandora Robertson,
Greg Cesear, and Christine McBurney, among others.

Rehearsals will be at the Cleveland Play House and at the Cleveland Heights
Library during May and early June.

The Festival is a great celebration of writing, performing and creativity
and commemorates Marilyn Bianchi¹s dedication to young people.
Each thing Marilyn touched became a vibrant statement of lifeŠand the echo
 of her laughter shapes her playwriting festival.
