JazzFest kicks off with a rousing performance by the Shaw High School
Marching Band, one of only five groups in the U.S. invited to
participate in the International Music Festival leading upto the Beijing
2008 Olympic Games. In honor of that occasion, their inspirational band
director Donshon Wilson was profiled on the NBC Nightly News segment
"Making a Difference." Winners of over 150 national competitions, the
Shaw Band will parade through Tower City and into Playhouse Square with
their usual aplomb, through throngs of onlookers.
