The Painesville Women's Chorus will present a concert entitled: "Love Beads, Bell Bottoms and Conflicts; Remembering the 60's". The concert will be held this coming Saturday, May 16th at 7:00 p.m. in the First Church Congregational, 22 Liberty Street, Painesville 44077 (handicap accessible).
The Women's Chorus has the distinction of being the longest community chorus in continual existence in the state of Ohio. They have performed in Washington D.C., toured Europe and recently sang at the State House in Columbus.
The performance is under the musical direction of Ginny Roedig. Guest soloist for the evening is Mary Jane Carlin. Roberta Whitely will accompany the chorus on the piano and will be joined by Jim Tomsik, percussion, and Kevin Aylward, bass guitar. The concert will bring back songs of the 60's, musicals of that time period, and songs of protest.
Tickets are available at the door for $5.00/$3.00. There is ample parking available at the church. Please contact Kay Link, 440-352-9636 for further information.
