Cesear’s Forum, Cleveland’s small resident non-profit professional theatre company, housed within PlayhouseSquare, concludes it’s intimate staging of Edward Albee’s
MARRIAGE PLAY. The run has brought in many out-of-towners or Cleveland
visitors familiar with Albee and surprised to find “an off-broadway space sequestered
within a larger complex.” Still a well kept secret to many Cleveland theatre-goers, Keith Joseph (Cleveland Scene) described the company’s work at Kennedy’s as “boutique-y ephemera.” In describing the play and production, Plain Dealer Critic, Tony Brown writes: “This is heady, combative stuff, fearsomely funny and devastating, patented Albee. Under the steady hand of director Greg Cesear, performers Dana Hart as the
earnestly lost Jack and Julia Kolibab as the immovably frowsy Gillian go the
distance, unflaggable, unflappable and unforgettable.”
