> GARFIELD HEIGHTS LITTLE THEATRE ANNOUNCES THE FINAL SHOW FOR THE 28TH SEASON:
> ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER AND TIM RICE
>
> ?JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT?
>
> It?s been nine years since anyone at the Garfield Heights Little Theatre (GHLT) has seen them, but Joseph and the Dreamcoat designed by Dennis Hicks, are finally making their way back to the GHLT stage. One of the most popular musicals of all time, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is slated to run May 29th at the Garfield Heights High School Performing Arts Center ?Matousek Auditorium? through June 14th 2009. Prior to opening, however, the cast of 40 plus kids and adults have worked very hard to master the show. The ensemble that comprised of a few former cast members and new members are definitely hamming it up to the choreography created by Jen Justice who is also cast as Mrs. Potiphar. Some members of the kid?s ensemble from years past are now rejoining the cast as adults like Eddie Borowy, Christine Mertel and Vicki Ungavarsky.
>
> Joseph, written by the powerhouse duo of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, features a stellar cast of wacky and distinctive characters. This includes Joseph?s father Jacob, played by John Staraitis, who is also the sophisticated millionaire Potiphar and an Elvis-like Ronn Powers as Pharaoh. Not to mention, Joseph?s eleven jealous brothers who are portrayed by talented actors from around the area. Throughout the production, the siblings croon ?Those Canaan Days? in a Parisian Caf? led by Gary Samarin, honky-tonk a mournful good-bye sung by brother, Don Pedley and Calypso with Joey Cayabyab as Judah. The curtain closed ACT I with the funky costumes as the go-going brothers and wives danced at a discotheque.
>
> Joseph?s imaginative story is set entirely to music made possible by the Musical Director, Keith Stiver. Without dialogue to rely on, cast members must relay the story through songs and movements, and that?s no simple task. Laura Fedina and/or Wendy Skidmore (understudy) portray Joseph?s soul-singing Narrator, who guides the audience along Joseph?s adventures. The Narrator practically never leaves the stage as she sings the entire show. Charles Robert Keshock, who plays the title character of Joseph, has an equally demanding vocal performance with the rendition of ?Any Dream Will Do? and ?Close Every Door?. The vocal range in this show is incredible, and I know there are high expectations for anyone who plays the role of Joseph.
>
> Joseph was first produced on the GHLT stage in 2000 and was considered one of the biggest hits at that time. Director and Co-Directors Sandy Leposa and Linda Raski respectively have captured once again a show that everyone loved and remembered. Everyone is looking forward to dazzle the new generation of theater goers with colorful production as it was nine years ago. The Cast and Crew promise to warm the hearts of loyal fans, while enchanting and sparking the imagination of new viewers.
> Tickets for Joseph are now on sale. Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat opens @ Matousek Auditorium The Performing Arts Center at the Garfield Heights High School on 4900 Turney Road in Garfield Heights, OH on May 29 and will run through June 14 with Fridays and Saturdays shows @ 8p and Sunday matinees @ 3p. Tickets are available by calling (216) 581-7554.

> Don't miss the World Premiere of a CPT Original Work written by CPT
> Executive Artistic Director Raymond Bobgan and CPT Artist Chris Seibert.
> Cut to Pieces is an ambitious theatrical work that integrates live
> performance and video projections in an affecting solo show. Cut to
> Pieces begins as a classic "who-done-it" tale and quickly spirals into
> an epic story of the dismembering power of violence, love, and the quest
> for self knowledge. Chris Seibert stars in this tour de force one woman
> show.
>
>
>
> The critics are raving about Cut to Pieces:
>
>
>
> "By taking an age-old trope of several people convened at a spooky
> mansion and twisting virtually everything thereafter, Bobgan (who also
> directs) and Seibert (who also performs) come up with a bounty of
> inspired moments. Cut to Pieces has an innocent arrogance and an
> energetic spirit of invention that makes it a thoroughly memorable
> experience...don't expect any easy plotting trajectory here. This is
> weird but wonderful theatrical creation, and it is most fascinating when
> it is least understandable. Seibert is a marvel." - Christine Howey,
> Cleveland Scene
>
>
>
> "Without spoiling the mystery, which lies both in the content and its
> manner of unspooling, suffice to say that Seibert and Bobgan...create an
> innerscape that alternates between the humorous and horrific. Despite
> the collaboration, it is Seibert -- an existentially lone boat tossed on
> the stormy breast of the great ocean of being -- who is laying herself
> bare here for all to see the ugliness and beauty, the monstrous and the
> monotonously quotidian, about being alive and engaged in oneself and
> one's world. Seibert burned brightly...as Emily in Our Town at Cleveland
> Public Theatre, but her candlepower on her return to the CPT stage
> attains supernova intensity." - Tony Brown, The Cleveland Plain Dealer

> If you?ve ever had a crazy boss, you?ll easily be able to relate to Big Boys, an absurdist comedy now playing at the Actors? Summit Theater in Hudson. Grounded in the reality of big business, Big Boys is very funny look at how our jobs can overtake our lives and personalities and transform us into versions of ourselves that we could hardly imagine and barely recognize.
> ?
> Norm needs a job and interviews with company President Victor. Norm is nice ? Victor is ruthless. Norm has a business education background ? Victor comes up with crazy schemes that are probably illegal and definitely unethical to move the company forward. Victor forces the nice Norm to abandon his ethics, values, and reliance on business models to become another version of himself. Will Norm eventually sell his soul and become the mirror-image of the ruthless Victor?
> ?
> This two character dance is wonderfully played out on the Actors? Summit stage. Neil Thackaberry is perfect as the pompous, off the wall Victor. You never know what he will do or say next and most of the time it?s hilarious. Keith Stevens is also terrific as the flustered Norm who tries to maintain some semblance of sanity.? Physically and comically, they are perfect foils and are a joy to watch. This is fast-paced comedy that never lags. It?s almost like watching an extended Monty Python or Second City routine, except this is often funnier. ??

>
> For the record, I know nothing about the companies involved here, so it is entirely possible that this is indeed a legitimate opportunity, but I also know that there are lots of companies out there trying to take advantage of unsuspecting actors by selling them an "opportunity". I'd hate to see any of our NEOPal-ers get ripped off. (again, not that these companies in particular are trying to rip people off, I'm just sayin'...)

This will not only be an incredible oportunity to build your resume but to meet and audition for agents, casting directors and managers from leaders in the industry including Nickelodeon and Warner Brothers Pictures.

> ?The Conspiracy of Donald Whitmore
> Set in a coed psychiatric hospital, The Conspiracy of Donald Whitmore is about a patient named Mack who desperately tries to solve the mystery of a missing patient, Donald Whitmore. Told through flashbacks and interviews with the patients and hospital staff, the story takes a surprising turn as the complex relationships between the characters are unraveled, and the shocking truth is exposed.?

> PLAYWRITE AND ACTOR JEFFREY BARNES
> BRINGS NEW WORK TO FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH
>
>
> Jeffrey Barnes will return to The First Baptist Church of Greater Cleveland on May 22, 2009 at 7:30pm in a performance of his new play, ?And He Ran Screaming?. Jeffrey performed his previous play ?Remember Who Made You?, a one man play exploring the myths, fears and joys of being both gay and Christian, at First Baptist last year. He writes of his new play, ?What would happen if you could travel into the past to meet yourself at a younger age? What would she or he think of who you've become?? In his newest one person show Jeffrey Barnes attempts to do just that. See what happens when he meets the younger, more naive version of himself. Join him on this revealing journey filled with school bus bullies, gym class sissies, love, lust, betrayal, damnation, and salvation.
> In the play, Barnes keeps praying to God to change him, and yet he still has sexual feelings for men, so he thinks that God is ignoring his prayers. After a long time, he realizes that God did answer his prayers: God changed him from hating himself into loving himself as he is because God loves him as he is.
> Barnes says, ?It can be a scary thing to take a realistic look at who you were in the past and see what brought you to where you are today. This is probably the most challenging project that I?ve taken on because I feel I have to be honest about who I am and where I?ve been.? Jeffrey will lead an audience discussion following the play.

> About the show:
> Is it Opera? Is it Musical Theatre? Yes. It is one of the most important works in both music and theatre of the 20th Century, and it still has resonance and entertainment value today. Weill and Brecht brilliantly question our values, our heroes, and our humanity while hitting us over the head with the velvet hammer of beautiful music.

>
>
>
>
>
>
> This two character dance is wonderfully played out on the Actors? Summit stage. Neil Thackaberry is perfect as the pompous, off the wall Victor. You never know what he will do or say next and most of the time it?s hilarious. Keith Stevens is also terrific as the flustered Norm who tries to maintain some semblance of sanity. Physically and comically, they are perfect foils and are a joy to watch. This is fast-paced comedy that never lags. It?s almost like watching an extended Monty Python or Second City routine, except this is often funnier.

Three solders find themselves giving the performance of a lifetime when a certain singing trio of siblings fail to arrive at their USO gig. "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy," and "Don't Sit Under The Apple Tree" are just two of the favorites in this valentine to the heroes of World War II. OH! and of course there is the love story.
