An Introduction to Acting Technique
FOUR Saturdays: June 20, 27 and June 11 & 18 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.  
Instructor: Stephen Skiles
Tuition:$100 

What is acting technique? How can it help an actor? Stanislavski... who is he? Using games, improvisation, personal experiences and text, this class will begin to explore the basic methods and principles of Stanislavski's acting technique. The focus of this class is to learn about acting objectives, physicality, "the magic if" and constructing character. This is a fantastic introduction to the tools upon which most actors depend! 

Costume Rendering
FOUR Saturdays, July 11, 18, 25 & August 1, 10:00 a.m. to noon. 
Instructor: Jasen J. Smith
Tuition: $80 
A beginner's class into drawing the costume design. 

Renderings are the drawing that costume designers create to show silhouette, period, seam lines, placement of trim and any costume accessories. In this class, students will learn to draw the human form, dress the human form and paint the final design.  Students will learn to use the Fashion Journalists rendering technique.  The class will also research historical periods and work on overall costume character design. Each student will need to purchase a watercolor pad, watercolors or water color pencils, a pencil and eraser.

Introduction to Directing
ONE Saturday, 7/11 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. 
Instructor: Melanie YC Pepe
Tuition:$40 

What makes a good director? What makes a good rehearsal? In this one day workshop, students will be introduced to the tools, techniques and concepts traditionally used by Directors. Specifically the class will discuss staging, blocking notation, directing focus, pacing, silence, justified movement and leadership/working with actors. 

Acting & Monologue Workshop
SIX Mondays, July 13, 20, 27, August 3, 10 & 17 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. 
Instructor: Melissa Owens, AEA 
Tuition:$150 

In this workshop, students will study fundamental principles of acting and the development of physical and vocal self-expression in character interpretation. Each student will develop these skills by selecting, memorizing and performing monologues that can be used for auditions. The audition process will also be discussed with tips on material choice, presentation, resumes and what to wear. You will learn how to develop your monologue as an acting piece as well as make your monologue presentation in a confident, professional manner.

Vocal Music Technique
TWO Saturdays, 8/15 - 8/22 (VMT AD)
Instructor: Sarah Bailey, M.M.
Tuition: $80 

This class covers the fundamentals of vocal technique, and is suitable for beginners to intermediate singers. Specific topics include posture, breathing and support, eliminating muscular tension, resonance, and diction. Each student will apply these techniques through work on 2 vocal pieces, a musical theater number and a classical piece. Time is allotted for group exercises and voluntary solo singing.  Please bring bottled water!
