*Don't Hug Me*

Returns to Actors’ Summit

In a blast of comic cold air, Actors’ Summit announces the opening of *Don't
Hug Me**,* an award winning musical comedy that takes place in a rustic
north-woods bar in tiny Bunyan Bay, Minnesota, where the women love to hunt
and fish, and the men want to move to Florida.  The plays at Actors’ Summit
Theater in downtown Hudson. The play will run in repertory through July 25.

All seats for the first three performances: Friday at 8:00, and Saturday at
2:00 and 8:00, are just $15 with all full time students admitted for $ 7.

*The Play *

*"A love story with singin' and stuff," is how the Olson brothers,
co-creators of the play describe it. Carla & Gunner own The Bunyan Inn, a
local bar & grill that’s really busy during the summer, but pretty deserted
all winter. Carla loves the North woods and wouldn't trade it for anything.
Gunner has had all the winter he cares for and wants to move south to
Florida. The waitress at The Bunyan, Bernice, is engaged to Kanute who owns
five sporting goods stores, but she doesn't really love him, and dreams of a
career as a singer.***

*Enter Aarvid Gisselson, a dynamic salesperson whose product is karaoke
machines, although he insists that they are "lifestyle systems." Aarvid
promises not only more business, but a more romantic relationship through
musical communication. ***

*The Cast*

*MaryJo Alexander **(Carla Johnson) has performed at Ensemble Theatre, Cain
Park, Porthouse Theatre and Stan Hywet Shakespeare. This season she was seen
as the world famous actress, Fannie Kemble, and stepped into the role of the
psychologist in Inside Out, when another actor fell ill. ***

*Kathleen Culler (*Bernice Lundstrom)* *a graduate of Point Park University
Conservatory of Performing Arts, has been seen in *Sanders Family Christmas*
, * Main-Travelled Roads,* *Musical of Musicals, the Musical, Quilters,
Polish Joke, *and* A Midsummer Night’s Dream *here at Actors’ Summit. She
has also performed in productions at The Cleveland Play House, Magical
Theatre Company, Weathervane Playhouse, The Beck Center, and Player’s Guild
Theatre.

*Frank Jackman** (Gunner Johnson) **returns the Actor's Summit stage where
he has performed in Polish Joke, Russians In Love, Cricket on the Hearth,
Personals, and Charley's Aunt.  You may have recently seen him on television
in "Warner Cable" and "Kelley and Ferraro" commercials, as well as his
continuing commercial role as The Singing Lumberjack for "Idlewild Amusement
Park" in Pennsylvania. ***

*Keith Stevens* (Aarvid Gisselsen) *returns following performances in **Sanders
Family Christmas, Russians in Love**, and the highly successful Ohio premier
of **Main-Travelled Roads** at Actors’ Summit.  His Actors’ Summit credits
include **Macbeth**, **A Child’s Christmas in Wales**, **Rounding Third,
Proof, I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, Picnic, Musical of Musicals
-- the Musical**, and **Romeo and Juliet**. *

*Performance Schedule**
**Don't Hug Me **performs on Friday 7/3 at 8:00; Saturday 7/4 at 2:00 &
8:00; Wednesday, 7/8 at 8:00; Thursday, 7/9 at 8:00; Friday, 7/10 at 8:00;
Saturday 7/18 at 2:00 & 8:00, Sunday, 7/19 at 2:00; Wednesday, 7/22 at 8:00;
Saturday 7/25 at 2:00 & 8:00.*

*Tickets**
*Regular performance tickets are $28 on Fridays & Saturdays, $25 on
Thursdays, Sundays, and all matinees with seniors receiving a $3 discount at
regular Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday performances and all matinees.
Additional
discounts are available to groups of ten or more.



New this year: ALL full time student tickets (with ID) are $7 at all
performances.
